St Lucia, from the mud bath up.
Which catamaran actually sails past the Pitons. Whether the volcano is worth the drive. Who to trust on Gros Piton. Every tour in St Lucia, reviewed and ranked.
Soufriere is the day the rest of St Lucia plans around.
One town holds the drive-in volcano, the mud baths, the Tet Paul stairway and both Pitons. Most visitors stay in the north and give Soufriere one long day — these are the ways to spend it well.
Climb it, soak under it, or sail past it?
Everything in Soufriere happens in the shadow of the same two peaks. The real decision is how you want to meet them.

Gros Piton, guided from Fond Gens Libre
The taller Piton has a proper trail: two steep hours up through rainforest with a local guide, half the island laid out from 798 metres, then the knee-testing walk back down.
The days St Lucia gets booked for.
The peak, the sail, the falls, the rum and the rainforest. Most trips are planned around a handful of days — this is the best way to book each one.
St Lucia’s most popular tours.

The north is where St Lucia keeps the evenings.
Rodney Bay’s marina and restaurants, Pigeon Island and the ruins of Fort Rodney, Gros Islet just up the road. If your resort is here, the sunset cruises, segway trails and snorkel boats leave from your doorstep.
All 158 tours in the north →What a St Lucia day costs.
Every tour on the site, sorted by what it actually costs. The island is not a budget destination — but the days that earn their price are easy to spot.
Gros Piton with a local guide, rum tastings, segway trails — the island’s best-value days.

The classic full days: catamarans to Soufriere, volcano-and-waterfall loops, land-and-sea combos.
Only in St Lucia.
Beaches and boat days you can find on any island. A volcano you drive into, a staircase with a two-Piton view and the peaks themselves belong to St Lucia alone.

The Drive-in Volcano
The sign at Sulphur Springs calls it the world’s only drive-in volcano, and the road really does roll to the edge of a steaming, collapsed crater. Below it, warm grey pools where you smear volcanic mud on, let it dry, and rinse off in water heated from underneath. Old swimsuit essential — the sulphur stain is the souvenir.

Tet Paul’s Stairway to Heaven
A forty-five minute farm trail above Soufriere ends at a wooden staircase locals named the Stairway to Heaven. From the top platform both Pitons stand in one frame, with Martinique on the horizon on a clear day. It is the easiest big view on the island — most volcano day tours can add it.

The Pitons Themselves
Two volcanic spires rising straight out of the sea, a UNESCO World Heritage listing since 2004, and the shape on every bottle of the local beer. Petit Piton is the sharper climb; Gros Piton, at 798 metres, has the managed trail and the mandatory local guides from Fond Gens Libre village at its base.
